1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Today Expenses, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. About Today Expenses

Today Expenses is a personal expense and income tracking app with a notebook-style interface. The app allows you to record your daily finances, view charts and insights, and sync your data privately across your Apple devices using iCloud.

3. Requirements

iCloud

Today Expenses requires an active iCloud account signed in on your device. Your data is stored in your private iCloud database. If you are not signed in to iCloud, you will not be able to use the app.

AI Models

Today Expenses supports two on-device AI models for extracting category and amount information from your natural language input.

Apple Foundation Models — powered by Apple Intelligence, available on iPhone 15 Pro and later running iOS 26. If Apple Intelligence is unavailable on your device or disabled in Settings, this option will not be available.

Pre-Trained Model — a lightweight text classifier built specifically for Today Expenses and trained on 16,700 expense and income notes across 71 categories. Available on every supported device, with or without Apple Intelligence.

Pre-Trained Model is selected by default. You can switch between models at any time from Settings > AI Model, subject to device compatibility.

Supported Devices

Today Expenses requires iOS 26 or later. Apple Foundation Models requires a device that supports Apple Intelligence. Pre-Trained Model is available on all supported devices. Please check the App Store listing for full compatibility details.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Plans

Today Expenses offers the following subscription plans:

• Monthly Plan — $3.99 per month. Eligible new users receive a 3-day free trial. After the trial, billing begins at $3.99 per month.
• Yearly Plan — $14.99 per year. No trial period. Billed once annually.

24-Hour Free Period

Today Expenses offers a free 24-hour access period for new users. This period begins only when you explicitly tap “Start free — 24 hours” in the app. During this period you have access to all features at no charge. If you purchase a subscription or activate a trial during the 24-hour period, the free period ends immediately.

Billing and Renewal

Subscriptions are billed through your Apple ID account via the App Store. Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings.

Trials

The 3-day free trial is available only to eligible users who have not previously used a trial for this app. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple. After the trial period ends, your subscription will automatically convert to the paid Monthly plan unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Refund requests must be submitted directly to Apple. Today Expenses does not process refunds independently.

5. User Content and Data

Your Data

All expense and income records you create in Today Expenses are yours. Your data is stored locally on your device using SwiftData and synced privately and securely to your iCloud account. We do not have access to your data.

AI Processing

When you type a record in natural language, the selected AI model running entirely on your device extracts the category and amount. This processing happens on-device and your input is never sent to any external server. The Pre-Trained Model was trained exclusively on curated sample data — your data is never used to train or improve any model. The app does not automatically detect whether a record is an expense or income; you set this manually using the Expense and Income tabs.

Data Accuracy

You are responsible for reviewing and correcting the information recorded in the app. AI-extracted categories and amounts may occasionally be incorrect. You can tap the metadata panel on any record to open the metadata editor and make corrections.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Today Expenses only for lawful personal finance tracking purposes. You must not attempt to reverse-engineer, modify, or redistribute the app or any part of it.

7. Intellectual Property

Today Expenses, including its design, interface, page styles, fonts, widgets, and all associated content, is the intellectual property of the developer. All rights are reserved.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

Today Expenses is provided on an “as is” basis without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. Financial decisions should not be made solely on the basis of information recorded in this app.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Today Expenses, including but not limited to loss of data or financial loss.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will indicate the date of the most recent update at the top of this document.

11. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
